Confusion trailed the senatorial primary of the All Progressives Congress in the Anambra South Senatorial District on Wednesday.

As of 4 P.M., aspirants and delegates could not locate the venues for the primary.

Addressing the Press, an aspirant, Mr. Azuka Okwuosa, alleged foul play, lamenting that some people who destroyed the opposition Peoples Democratic Party had joined APC with the same mindset.

He said, “The presence of such people is cancerous to our party. I obtained the senatorial form for Anambra South District and was cleared by the party, alongside Senator Andy Uba.

“But I have no idea of the venue of today’s primaries of our party. Party members have been waiting for the electoral panel without seeing anyone.”

While appealing to party members to remain calm, Okwuosa vowed that the people of the area would resist any imposition of a candidate on them.

The PDP House of Representatives Primary in the district was not spared of the confusion and crisis, either.

At Umuohi Town Hall, Okija, in Ihiala Local Government Area venue of the primary, delegates, as of 5.45 P.M., were still waiting for the electoral materials to arrive.

The PDP chairman in the local government, Sam Anyakora, alleged that certain politicians absconded with the electoral materials with the intention to rig the primaries.
