D.C. United boss Ben Olsen has backed FC Dallas manager Oscar Pareja as a candidate for the U.S. national team coaching job.
While Olsen did not outright back his opposite number for Saturday’s MLS showdown to be given the job, he does believe the Colombian should be up for an interview.
“I think he’s a guy that deserves to be interviewed,” Olsen said in quotes published by MLSsoccer.com.
“I think the more diverse you can have that process the better. I think he’s a guy with maybe a different pathway than some of the other coaches, with his playing days in South America, but also coming here and knowing our league and knowing the American player. I think he’s been a really good coach.”
